Zaffiro Sconce

"Experiences, and observations influence many of my designs. Stones formed by a raging river, jewelry artfully displayed in a store window, and brilliant sand on a coastal shore were inspirations for the Zaffiro - Sapphire in Italian. Zaffiro "stones" are cast from crystal clear recycled glass. This process creates fractures, hazy swirls and sparkling bubbles - like natural Sapphire. The "stones" are set into rings of stainless steel and suspended over radiant crystal shards of fused glass "sand" that diffuses low voltage halogen lamps.
